In spring 2018, Iowa implemented a new filing system to help new businesses register faster. Apparently, it’s a success.
The Success of Iowa’s New Filing System
The Secretary of State Paul D. Pate implemented a new filing system in spring 2018. The state launched its technology upgrade in hope to help the business community start new business ventures faster. Secretary Pate announced that the Business Service Division processed more than 2,300 applications in April. The new system, known as Fast Tracking Filing, allows business owners to register in a couple of minutes, whereas before the change, the registration process could take as long as three weeks.
The Secretary of State says their goal is to be available 24/7 and be able to keep up with the pace the business community imposes.
